Excursions in the Salzburg region

The Mooserboden und Wasserfallboden reservoirs lie embedded between the rock faces of the Hohe Tauern at an altitude of 2,000 metres. Accessible by bus or the Lärchwand-inclined lift.

A visit to the Sigmund Thun Klamm gorge is an experience for the whole family! Many stairs lead into the gorge inner where thundering waterfalls create a unique spectacle of nature. Open from May to September.

More than 200 Alpine animals live in this park. It takes about an hour to walk through the park during which info and display plaques offer interesting information and fun facts about the flora and fauna here. With playground, lake, viewing tower and restaurant.

The journey on one of the most famous Alpine roads to the highest mountain in Austria is an absolute MUST! This panoramic road leads across more than 36 bends and through the stunning landscape of the Hohe Tauern National Park!

With a height of 380 metres, the Krimml Waterfalls are the highest in Austria and, at the same time, one of the most popular excursion destinations in the Salzburg region! A walk along the waterfall path with viewing points and recesses is a memorable experience!

The world’s biggest ice cave in Werfen takes away the breath of all who visit! It extends across an unbelievable 42 km although it is only the first ca. 1 km long section which is accessible to visitors. Fascinating ice sculptures for young and old cave lovers!
